Break The Stigma - Art display challenging prejudice and discrimination around mental health

The Higgins Bedford celebrated World Mental Health Day on October 10th with the launch of our new mindful art display, created by service users and people with a lived experience of mental health issues. The artwork was created over a series of workshops in partnership with Dr Ben Salmons; Break the Stigma Campaign lead at East London NHS foundation and Damon Poulton; local artist.

The art, and creative writing/poetry about the works, will be on display from 10th October outside the Settlement Gallery.

150 years of Goldings Ironmongers

We are celebrating 150 years of Goldings Ironmongers with a display in the Somewhere in England gallery. In 1867 William Day set up his Ironmongery business Day & Sons on the High Street; this was later to be taken over by William Golding in 1899.

We're celebrating the owners and staff and displaying some historic items from the shop storeroom that we hope will bring back memories for you..
