The Community View

Thursday 18th May 2017                     4 – 7pm

Free event – No booking required

Join us for our first ever Community View on Thursday 18 May. Between 4pm – 7pm, The Higgins will be open for you to learn more about our community engagement work and find out how you can get involved.

Our ambition is to be a place that is known for working for and with its communities and that is truly representative of Bedford. But we need your help.

You will be able to hear from our LGBT History Month, Black History Month, Women in Bedford and Refugee Week groups and meet some of our amazing volunteers. In the past year, these supporters have helped us to programme an exciting series of events and develop a number of displays.

We need your help to extend this work and reach even more of Bedford. Come along to find out more about how you or your organisation can get involved with our exciting plans for the coming year.

Email us, thehiggins@bedford.gov.uk, to join the event or find out more about our community engagement revolution.

Refugee Week  19th - 25th June 2017

Bedford is a town of migration. We have a long and proud tradition of welcoming new communities seeking new lives – some people have arrived seeking work and better opportunities, some people have fled war or persecution. The Higgins Bedford is working with local asylum seeker, refugee and migrant communities to ensure that the museum celebrates all our histories and culture.
