Dementia Action Week is a national event that sees the public coming together to take action in supporting people that are affected by dementia. This year, there are free activities for all who are interested in or are affected by dementia.

Dementia Pastels Exhibition + Information at The Higgins

Monday 16 – Sunday 22 May

 

Showcasing previous works from the Tibbs Art Activitea group and local dementia artist Phillip Watmough. Pick up useful information leaflets on dementia in The Higgins foyer.

 

Introduction to Dementia 

Wednesday 18 May, 9am – 3pm

 

Join in online talks and a Q&A with ELFT Recovery College, Alzheimer’s Society, Tibbs Dementia Foundation, Carers in Bedfordshire and Age UK to find out more about support available for those affected by dementia.

Around Bedford Castle

Thursday 19 May, 11am – 12.30 pm

 

Join us for a gentle, sensory walk around the remains of Bedford Castle and learn more about the history of the area. Back at The Higgins, investigate a range of interesting objects with links to the castle and our own history and memories. Refreshments provided.
