Higgins @ Home Holiday Activities

 

Join Little Science Labs this half term for fantastic online science experiments. Workshops will be online via Zoom and last for approx. 30 to 45 mins. Each workshop is limited to 15 places. 

 

All participants will need a kit provided by Little Science Labs to join in the workshops. Kits can be picked up from the front desk at The Higgins Bedford and will be available for collection from 25th May to 1st June during open hours. Proof of purchase (ticket) will be required when collecting the kits.


Food Chains, Wednesday 2nd June

Workshops start at 10am and 11am
Cost £5 per place (Little Science Labs will be donating 50p from each booking to the Raptor Foundation)

Dissect real owl pellets and discover what owls like to eat!

 

* Kit includes pellets to dissect, a magnifying glass, a bone identification chart and all other materials needed *

 

 

Wonderful Whistles, Thursday 3rd June
Workshops start at 10am and 11am
Cost £5 per place
Discover the physics of sound and make your own whistles.

 

* Kits contains all materials to make two whistles that can be changed to make different sounds *

Rainbow Towers, Friday 4th June
Workshops start at 10am and 11am
Cost £5 per place
Discover the chemistry of solutions and densities and create a stunning rainbow tower.


* Kit includes all the materials needed *

Tales of Colonel Frederick Burnaby

 

Join Vicki as she reads a story from the Tales of Colonel Frederick Burnaby. The famous Victorian Bedfordian was known for his great strength and daring, world-wide travelling adventures, hot air ballooning escapades and eventful military career. A ‘larger than life’ man, who was very much of his time. (Suitable for ages 7+)
