A Place of Wellbeing

The museum is developing its role as a place of wellbeing for local people. Just being in a museum increase peoples’ happiness and sense of wellbeing. 


Weekly Wellbeing Activities



Every Monday









Starts 13 September

Mindful Table 



















2:45 - 3:30pm












Social Games with free play and coaching. Maximum 2 players per table. Ages 18+


A relaxing and mindful Pilates class taking place in gallery. Maximum 14 people. First come, first served on the day. Ages 18+

Every Friday


Mindful Walks

11am - 12:30pm


Social walking group with a drinks stop afterwards. Please observe social distancing guidelines. Maximum 30 people. Ages 18+

Sketch Friday 

Every Friday (except Christmas Eve & New Year’s Eve)

11am - 4pm, Free Entry


Explore the galleries and find a painting or object that you would like to sketch. Materials and paper are provided or you can bring in your own. Please do not bring paints or materials that might cause damage to the collections. All levels welcome.


You can also join the Sketch Friday Facebook group for monthly images to inspire you to create your own piece of art. We would love it if you could share a photo of your work with the group. No particular artistic skills required – it’s just for fun. Click here to join the Facebook group.
