A Place of Wellbeing

The museum is developing its role as a place of wellbeing for local people. Just being in a museum increase peoples’ happiness and sense of wellbeing.

A relaxing and mindful Pilates class taking place in the art gallery. Please bring your own mat. Maximum 14 people. First come, first served on the day. Ages 18+

Join us for a relaxed and friendly chat about a selection of our favourite artworks on display at The Higgins Bedford. Stay with us to sketch and share your work. 

 

 

Free monthly art discussions followed by sketching afternoons. Art materials and portable chairs are provided. No art experience needed to join in.

 

Tea Party Poetry

Join in free sessions of writing poetry alongside tea and treats in a small sociable group. Give a voice to your thoughts and emotions inspired by a different theme each session.

 

No experience needed to join in. Sessions are suitable for ages 16+.

Sketch Friday 

Every Friday (except Christmas Eve & New Year’s Eve)

11am - 4pm, Free Entry

Explore the galleries and find a painting or object that you would like to sketch. Materials and paper are provided or you can bring in your own. Please do not bring paints or materials that might cause damage to the collections. All levels welcome.

 

You can also join the Sketch Friday Facebook group for monthly images to inspire you to create your own piece of art. We would love it if you could share a photo of your work with the group. No particular artistic skills required – it’s just for fun. Click here to join the Facebook group.
